Karen Chen (born August 16, 1999) is an American figure skater. She is the 2022 Winter Olympic silver medalist in the team event, a three-time ISU Challenger medalist (bronze at 2015 Golden Spin of Zagreb, 2016 US Classic, and 2017 US Classic), and the 2017 US champion

Personal Life

Chen was born in Fremont, California to Taiwanese emigrants. Her younger brother, Jeffrey, is a competitive ice dancer; he won the 2016 US Championships in the juvenile division.

Aside from figure skating, Chen is an avid painter and maintained a 4.0 grade average at Connections Academy, an online school. She admires Kim Yuna and Mao Asada.
