Yuna Kim (September 5, 1990) is a South Korean retired figure skater. She is the 2010 Winter Olympics champion, and the 2009 and 2013 World Championships champion. Additionally, she the 2014 Winter Olympics silver medalist, a two-time World Championships silver medalist (2010 & 2011), and the 2007 and 2008 World Championships bronze medalist. Throughout her entire career, she has never finished a competition off the podium.
Kim received the silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics, although this ruling was not met without controversy, as she had delivered two relatively flawless performances, while the winner had stepped out of a jump. Many people believed the Olympic marks were fixed, and were especially suspicious of Russia's hosting of this event. Others felt the scoring was fair under the current scoring system. Kim, however, stated the judges' marks were out of her control, and she was happy the event was over.
